[the microscopic silver lining is that the plantsplosion and Mirror's attack is saving them the extremely harrowing bullshit of getting through Styx's sternum. he is thinking about these things because otherwise he will either cry or start laughing wildly and alarmingly

when he comes back to the table he's cleaned his hands and retrieved a couple of thin blades, one of their bottled stores of limbus goop, a tray to put the bits, and just a whole-ass chilled limbus heart ready to go. pleasant]

Let's take out that destroyed heart first; we can use part of it as material for the eyes.

His eyes land on the limbus heart and just kind of. Stay there for a long second, considering the implications of Charon quietly growing a replacement heart for Styx in anticipation of this.

Charon removes whatever portions are obviously free and clear from both glass and plant damage to use, again wanting to risk Mirror's puppeting as little as possible. his hands are also very steady, though it does save them both that real surgical skill and precision aren't super needed here.

he'll leave putting the new heart in to Minuet and prep the new eyes, partially shielding the view of that fun activity from Minuet with his back. limbus is so useful! it is also so gross!]
