[ He comes around behind him to clasp the collar in place, adjusting it slightly.

He doesn't step back immediately once it's done, tracing his finger over the line of it. ]

[he can see the gentle rise of Frost’s feathers around it, the tiny shiver at the drag of his finger.

swallows, hard, feeling the new pressure there]

How does it look?

[ He's kind of glad Frost can't see his expression ]

Like it belongs there.

It does.

[ He rests his forehead against the nape of Frost's neck for a sec; a little overwhelmed, suddenly ]

[finds his wrist to hold again, quietly]

[ Quietly, without moving ]

I love you too.

[he feels Frost freeze, just for a moment, even his breath stopping

then he brings Aloe’s hand up to his face again, mouth against his fingers like a promise

he doesn’t say anything right away, but also wet warmth drips down Aloe’s hand, so there might be a good reason for that.]

[ He starts a little, but doesn't move away. There's an uncertain concern in his voice ]

[he sounds a bit wrecked, as one might when they just burst into tears on the spot, but he does get it out]

[ Coming around to face him finally, cupping his free hand against the side of his face ]

[he cries like a fuckin romance novel lead, though it’s more an accident of evolution than anything: the scales hide a lot of the immediate blotchy puffiness that crying brings on, and just show the track of tears

leans his face into Aloe’s hand, starts to shake his head, hesitates, and then nods instead]
